Empowering the Next Generation of Filmmakers
Youth Film Lab is a dynamic filmmaking incubator program that guides young filmmakers through the entire process of making independent film. A partnership between Yendor and the Community Media Center at Express Newark, YFL is creating the next generation of social engaged artists, while transforming the scope of youth programming by paying our youth participants.
YFL centers youth voice. The stories and topics of focus come from the youth participants, with support and guidance from expert professionals.
The first ever Youth Film Lab film, Finding Joy was completed in 2024 and is currently in the film festival circuit. Our next film, tentatively titled “Missing Peace” is slated to be filmed in 2026.
